ACAD Shop Drawing Technician/Technologist

One Position available, Position is Full-Time
Baywood Interior Millwork is a leading, progressive, mid sized architectural millwork, and, store fixture manufacturer, located in the Bridgeport Business Park area of Kitchener, ON. We operate in the ICI, (industrial, commercial, and, institutional) construction fields, as well as, many retail store fixture environments. In our 26th year of operation, Baywood continues to grow and diversify its operations, and, is looking for the right candidates to join our team.
Education:
Graduate of Conestoga College:
- Woodworking Technology/Technician Programs, or, Woodworking Technology-Architectural Millwork Program
- Architecture/Construction Engineering Technology Program
Graduates of other Ontario Colleges equivalent programs will also be considered
Experience:
A graduate of one of the above programs, plus 1-2 years of current, relevant, industry specific, ACAD detailers experience or 3-5 years of current, relevant, industry specific, ACAD detailing experience.
Primary Job Duties:
- Using our in-house ACAD software, generate millwork shop drawings utilizing our estimates, and the architect’s architectural drawings, specifications, and addendums
- You will correspond with architects, interior designers, and general contractors for required clarifications during the creation of shop drawings
- You will research specialty items to be incorporated into the millwork shop drawings as required and liaise with the projects estimator to ensure you are within estimated material budgetary constraints
- You will continuously build repeat client detail libraries to assist in expediting required shop drawings
- You must adhere to General contractor’s deadlines for shop drawing submissions and required re-submissions as applicable
Reports to:
Baywood’s Lead Estimator and Baywood’s Operations Manager
Other Job Skills required:
Excellent phone and computer skills, including Microsoft outlook, word, and excel, and ACAD. We are looking for someone that’s results orientated, with a proven successful track record.
Rate:
- Hourly, 44 hours weekly, O/T is available

Cabinetmaker(s) required for Woodworking Shop

We operate in the ICI, (industrial, commercial, and, institutional) construction fields, as well as, many retail store fixture environments. In our 26th year of operation, Baywood continues to grow and diversify its operations, and, is looking for the right candidates to join our team.
Applicant(s) would:
- Work off of architectural millwork drawings and specifications, millwork shop drawings and sketches, and, would be able to manufacture cabinets, counters, and, countertops
- Be competent working with melamines, plastic laminates, veneers, plywoods, and solid wood
- Be competent working with small hand tools, and, woodworking machinery common to a woodworking shop
- Be able to work both independently, and, in a team work environment
Education:
- Graduate of Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning is preferred
- Woodworking Technology/Technician Programs, or, Woodworking Technology-Architectural Millwork Program
Graduates of other colleges comparable programs will also be considered
Experience:
A graduate of one of the above programs, plus 3 years of current, relevant, industry specific, cabinet makers experience in a millwork, or store fixture, manufacturing environment or 5-8 years of current, relevant, industry specific cabinet makers experience in a millwork, or store fixture, manufacturing environment.

Installer required for Woodworking Shop
We are hiring for immediate start!!
Baywood Interior Millwork is a leading, progressive, mid sized architectural millwork, and, store fixture manufacturer, located in the Bridgeport Business Park area of Kitchener, ON. We operate in the ICI, (industrial, commercial, and, institutional) construction fields, as well as, many retail store fixture environments. In our 26th year of operation, Baywood continues to grow and diversify its operations, and, is looking for the right candidate to join our team.
Experience:
- Current experienced commercial installer in the ICI, industrial, commercial, institutional, and, retail store fixture fields
- Must be able to install cabinets, countertops, trims, etc
- Must be able to work off of architectural drawings, and, millwork shop drawings, installing millwork and store fixtures
- Must be able to work both independently, and, with other installers
- Install locations through-out Ontario

- Hourly, 44 hours weekly, O/T is available
