Education:

John is a two time grad from Conestoga College:

  • From 1985 to 1987 he attended Conestoga College, graduating with a Certificate in the Industrial Woodworking Apprenticeship Program.
  • From 1988 to 1991 he attended Conestoga College, graduating with a Diploma in the Architecture/Construction Engineering Program.

Student Government:

John is a two term President of the CSI (formerly Doon Students Association) from Conestoga College

  • From 1989 to 1991 John served as President of the Doon Students Association
  • John served as a student Governor on the Conestoga College Board of Governors from 1990-1992.
  • John served as a Vice Chair of the Ontario Community College Students Presidents Association(OCCSPA) from 1990-1991.

Career Highlights:

John’s career highlight is being the owner, president and CEO of Baywood Interiors Ltd.  Baywood is an architectural woodwork and store fixture manufacturing and installation company, that works throughout Canada. Serving a client base including Home Hardware Stores, M&M Meat Shops, Williams Fresh Cafe and Things Engraved, along with numerous school boards in Ontario, Baywood counts itself lucky to have been able to thrive in these tough economic times.

Starting off 6 years ago with a crew of six employees, John has successfully grown the company to over 30 employees, and, three plant locations in Kitchener, ON.

What continues to drive Baywoods’ success is the quality of graduates it hires thru Conestoga College. More than 50% of Baywood’s employees are grads from Conestoga’s Woodworking Technology programs, and, Baywood regularly hires co-op students every semester from the same programs.

Current involvement with Conestoga College:

John currently serves as a 2013 member of the Alumni Council.
